Cycling (Recommended) - Cycling is the best way to explore Minamiboso’s quiet roads and scenic landscapes. Routes, distance, and pace are always tailored to your interests and fitness level. We have both normal bikes and e-bikes
Mountain Hiking (Recommended) - Minamiboso offers several mountains over 300 meters high, ideal for half-day hikes. The most popular option is a guided walk at Nokogiriyama, known for its scenic views and historic sites.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding - Enjoy a relaxing experience on calm Tokyo bay, perfect for beginners. Paddle along the shoreline and experience Minamiboso from a peaceful, ocean-level perspective.
Sea Kayaking - Explore Minamiboso’s coastline by gliding across clear waters and along rugged shores. This gentle adventure is suitable for beginners and offers a unique perspective of the peninsula’s natural beauty.
Camping - Minamiboso offers excellent camping facilities surrounded by nature. Camping can be combined with outdoor activities and hands-on outdoor cooking classes.
Boso Fan Making (Recommended) - Learn the traditional craft of making Bōsō uchiwa, handmade bamboo fans unique to the region. This hands-on workshop lets you create your own functional souvenir while discovering local craftsmanship.
Leather Craft (Recommended) - Create your own leather-covered notebook using hides from invasive species such as deer and wild boar. While crafting, listen to the artisan’s story about sustainability and coexistence with local wildlife.
Straw Work - Learn how to make traditional handmade straw crafts, such as a trivet. These practical items were part of everyday life in rural Japan in the past, offering a hands-on glimpse into traditional living.
Ukiyo-e Printing - Visit the Hishikawa Moronobu Memorial Museum to learn about the history of Ukiyo-e, then take part in a hands-on workshop using traditional woodblock printing techniques.
Incense Making (Recommended) - Visit a serene temple and create your own custom incense by blending powdered spices, a traditional practice believed to cleanse the senses and ward off negative energy.
Vegetable Harvesting (Recommended) - Meet local farmers who grow organic vegetables and learn about their sustainable approach to farming. Harvest seasonal produce yourself, then bring it to a nearby farmhouse restaurant to enjoy a fresh farm-to-table meal.
Fruit Picking - Visit local farms where you can pick seasonal fruit yourself. Depending on the season, enjoy strawberries, melons, oranges, loquats, and unique local varieties grown exclusively in the area.
Vegan Cooking Class (Recommended) - Visit a private restaurant hidden deep in the mountains and learn about a sustainable lifestyle. Join a hands-on cooking class, making items such as onigiri rice balls and vegetable-based sauces, then enjoy a beautifully prepared vegan lunch.
