“I inquired about a 1-day bike tour with Boso Adventure after seeing it on the Visit Chiba website. Setogawa-san was very responsive to my inquiries, and I was happy to book a tour for 5 people in July. We chose to ride with cross bikes for a 50km route but also had the option to use e-bikes. He ensured the route for our bike tour was appropriate for all members of the group (of various skill levels) and assured us that adjustments could be made if required on the fly. Contingency measures were also in place in case someone got tired or injured, but I felt safe the entire time and the pacing and distance were just right for us. The tour took us through farmland with beautiful scenery, a wooden pier at the beach, a local art gallery and shrine and a couple of road stations. At each stop, Setogawa-san would introduce the history of the area to us and answer any questions we had. We also had lunch at a very popular seafood restaurant we would have been intimidated to try by ourselves! We ended the tour feeling so accomplished and fulfilled.  Setogawa-san was very accommodating with our limited Japanese language skills and communication in English is no problem! I would not hesitate to book another bike tour with Boso Adventure. There’s still so much to see and experience in Minamiboso, and it’s so fun to explore on a bike with a knowledgeable guide. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys riding bikes and is looking for a fun, outdoor activity in Chiba.

2023 Day Tour, Leyna

Our family spent four days and three nights in Minamiboso, and it became one of the highlights of our three-week journey through Japan. The experience focused on meaningful cultural encounters, from making traditional Boso fans to visiting the maritime museum and learning about the historic Maiwai fishing culture. We stayed in a comfortable private villa that allowed us to relax and truly enjoy the countryside. Dining locally was both affordable and delicious, especially the sushi restaurant run by a local fish wholesaler—fresh, authentic, and surprisingly reasonable. It was a genuine, unforgettable local experience.

2025 4-Days Tour, Vadim

Having recently gotten into biking, I traveled to Japan looking for something beyond the cities, and the private cycling tour in Minamiboso was one of my favorite experiences of my trip. What made the experience special was the deep local knowledge that Kenji offered throughout—meeting local farmers, stopping at places I never would have found on my own, and feeling so welcomed everywhere we went. It was peaceful, nicely paced, and thoughtfully guided. Minamiboso felt like a true retreat from the crowds, and I returned to Tokyo feeling relaxed, inspired, and connected to such a unique view of Japan.”
